Studio City received its name in the 1920's during the height of Hollywood's silent film era. In the late 1940's and the early 1950's, it was a magical place with actors such as Errol Flynn walking the streets, and the Hollywood Cowboys of Film were ever-present.
Today, film and television studios continue to thrive in the area. Studio City remains a center for entertainment-related businesses and is a hub for Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley. Sportsmen's Lodge Hotel is located on Ventura Boulevard, a destination in its own right, containing miles of boutiques and restaurants.
