Studio City received its name in the 1920’s during the height of Hollywood’s silent film era. In the late 1940’s and the early 1950’s, it was a magical place with actors such as Errol Flynn walking the streets, and the Hollywood Cowboys of Film were ever-present. In fact, some of those cowboys can still be seen at the Golden Boot Awards held each year at the Sportsmen’s Lodge Hotel.

Today, film and television studios continue to thrive in the area. Studio City remains a center for entertainment-related businesses and is a hub for Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley. Sportsmen’s Lodge Hotel is located on Ventura Boulevard, a destination in its own right, containing miles of boutiques and restaurants.
